It was almost as shocking to write the title, as it was to see her beautiful designs come down the runway.

Kimora Lee Simmons is known for her plunging necklines, over use of prints, and the key ingredient of LYCRA! Fall of 2008 was a different story for the Baby Phat line. It was all about sparkle and homage to the beauty of the jazz.
Fringy flapper dresses (instead of string fringe, these were ropes of pearls) or tiny feather miniskirts, pinstriped sailor pants with diamond-studded buttons, and lacy little frocks with loads of rhinestone embellishment. There were short shorts worn over shiny tights or better yet, with fishnet stockings attached by garters, tuxedo jackets revealing bras – so cabaret -- and long jersey gowns which models accessorized with cigarette holders.

My favorite element of the evening was the make-up and hair! It was truly a work of art on its own separate from the collection. It was truly fierce! Christian McCullough for MAC Cosmetics created a smoky eye on the models, thickly covered the eyelid and brow bone with glitter.
McCollough stated "It's inspired by Billie Holiday, Clara Bow and the Twenties," McCullough added a bit of subtle color high on the cheekbone, finishing with burgundy lips on some models, orange on others.

Hair was mastered by sensational stylist Danilo, who is of the esteemed Linea Pro. Danillo also caputured the essence of the 20's vibe with smooth techniques that beautifully sculpted each model's hair.

Kimora never fails to give her fans a show that always tops the season before. This time around the elegance was at 100%. Brava Kimora, Brava!
